Glee’s Mark Salling Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography

Mark Salling, 35 – star of the hit show Glee plead guilty to possession of child pornography and faces seven years in prison. Salling has also been ordered to pay victims $50,000 each.

Salling lives in California and was arrested there in December of 2015. He originally faced a maximum sentence of twenty years after being charged with two counts of child pornography.

Salling also is ordered to register as a sex offender and upon his release, he will be under supervision for twenty years. Numerous terms were listed in his court documents and included “Defendant shall not associate or have verbal, written, telephonic, or electronic communication with any person under the age of 18, except’ (a) in the presence of the parent or guardian of said minor: and (b) on the condition that defendant notifies said parent or legal guardian of defendant’s conviction”.

The court document also states “Defendant shall also no frequent, or loiter, within 100 feet of schoolyards, parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds, youth centers, video arcade facilities, or other places primarily used by persons under the age of 18.”

Police originally became aware of the Salling’s illicit activities after being tipped off by a female acquaintance of the actor. DailyMail reports “Following the tip-off Salling was arrested at his home in Sunglad, California in December 2015 where police found a cache of explicit images on his computer depicting children as young as 10 years old in sexual situations. They later discovered more than 50,000 photos and videos on his laptop and another 4,000 on a flash drive.”

This was not the Hollywood actor’s first brush with the law. In March of 2015 he settled a 2.7 million dollar case with a woman who had sued him for sexual battery. The case was settled midway through the trial. Sallman played the regular character Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman on the hit series for the first five seasons.
